Development & Acquisitions Resiliency
Today And Tomorrow
Tenaska’s Strategic Development & Acquisitions Group (SD&A) takes a simple approach to bring value to the company, our partners and customers: We focus on helping our customers manage their energy needs today and facilitate their transition to a cleaner energy future by operating at the intersection of sustainability, reliability and resiliency.
Over the past year, Tenaska’s SD&A team has delivered on this approach, advancing multiple development projects, managing existing assets and investing in future technologies and programs with the potential to disrupt the marketplace.
SD&A leverages its broad industry knowledge to develop energy projects ranging from renewables, such as solar, wind and energy storage, to biodiesel peakers and carbon capture and storage. SD&A is leading efforts to develop the carbon sequestration field for the Heartland Greenway system that will facilitate carbon reduction efforts by agribusiness customers in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. The group is also assisting companies, like Arevon, which has secured 1,670 megawatts (MW) of offtake transactions for solar projects in Indiana and battery storage projects in California. In Missouri, SD&A is working under a development services agreement to advance a 400-MW wind portfolio that Cordelio Power acquired from Tenaska. Additionally, SD&A is working with global investment firm Carlyle (through its decarbonization platform Copia Power) to develop utility-scale sustainable solar infrastructure in the United States.
Tenaska’s 35-year record of success reflects its ability to grow promising and innovative energy businesses with the potential to transform the market — and SD&A is uniquely positioned to tap into the full depth and breadth of Tenaska’s expertise.
